Welcome to Sara Wildlife

This is a site just so that Sara can get some experience launching a new website.

1 - Create a GoDaddy account. GoDaddy is a domain registrar (you can buy domains from them) and a web host (you can host websites with them). I forgot to say this: in order to buy domains and hosting, you'll need to provide your credit/debit card info on these sites, so you can pay for it. Also, your name and address. As stated, I'll always pre-pay for all hosting/domain purchases.

2 - Buy a hosting package. In GoDaddy, click Hosting, then Web Hosting, and select Ultimate at $7.99 / month. You get a free domain. You could pick anything you want, but enter sarawildlife.com I checked and it's available. Do a 36-month term, for $287 or so. Always enter promotional code gdbbj1005 Then checkout.

3 - SKIP THIS STEP, BECAUSE YOU ALREADY GOT A FREE DOMAIN WITH THE HOSTING PACKAGE - Buy a domain. On the GoDaddy homepage, in the bar next to "Search Domain", type in a domain you'd like to buy. You can buy sarawildlife.com if you want. Click "Select" and "Continue to Cart". Keep "Privacy Protection" enabled. Always enter promotional code gdbbj1005 Then checkout.

Solve the Problem - 4 How-To Steps

Home & Attic Inspection

Inspect the exterior of the home, including the roof and all vents, to find out how the animals are getting in. Also inspect inside the attic to identify animal and damage.

Remove the Animals

This process is not simple, and it varies considerably based on animal type and situation. You might use an exclusion door, or a cage trap, or removal by hand.

INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED

4 - Make a website. I've done it for you. .zip file attached.

You won't have to get good at making websites. You'll just be downloading the prior websites and re-uploading them, or using HTML templates or wordpress templates, and simply pasting in text that I'll send.

5 - Assign the domain to the hosting account. Whenever you buy a domain, you have to designate which server it's supposed to be hosted on. Normally, you'd go to your GoDaddy account and manage domains, and manage DNS and change the Nameservers to the hosting account you want (you'll learn that at a later date).

But in this case, when you set up your new hosting account, it will ask you what domain you want to set it up under, and you'll select your only domain, sarawildlife.com. You'll want to select United States, Linux with cPanel. You'll set up an FTP account, and and FTP username and password. Record this along with your domain in the "Sara's PBN" Google spreadsheet

6 - Upload the website to the server. First, you'll need FTP software. Download filezilla. In Filezilla, you'll enter the domain, and the associated FTP username and password. Then you'll see two sides: the server, and your PC. Just drag-n-drop the HTML files on your PC over to the server, and voila, the site is online!
